Improvement in maintenance management is a key business strategy to reduce
internal costs and improve return on assets. Hence it is a strategic
interest area for Mimosa affiliates. The part five years have seen
contributions from industry and academia raising the approach to maintenance
to a more scientific discipline. The papers combine theory and practical
examples of improved practices which may be adopted by utilities,
manufacturing centres and facilities. Mimosa is an excellent forum to allow
discussion of alternative approaches in this area, given the focus of the
group on practical solution strategies and its model for improved
utilisation of assets.
