The OpenO&M™ Initiative is a collaborative effort including multiple open standards
organizations that enables interoperability between key Operations and Maintenance (O&M)
solutions components in Manufacturing, Fleet and Capital Facility environments. With
oversight from the OpenO&M Owner/Operator Leadership Council and the support of major
industry associations, the OpenO&M Interoperability Demonstration leverages key open
standards to enable the support of critical industry defined use cases with "sensor to enterprise"
interoperable solutions provided by the key industry vendors.
The first OpenO&M Interoperability Demonstration was staged in conjunction with the
2003 ISA Expo and with the full support of the ISA community; we expect this to be
an annually recurring event. Based on the attendees expected at this event, this
edition of the demonstration will target the Petrochemical and Oil and Gas industries.
O&M interoperability use cases developed in conjunction with those industry groups and
slated for implementation by participating vendors in key industry pilot projects will
be featured elements of the demonstration. Representatives from the OpenO&M Owner/Operator
Industry Leadership Council will speak in the Demonstration Theatre about the relevance
and importance of this activity to their individual organizations and associated industry groups.
Expected categories of vendor participants include:
Technology Platform Vendors
Process Controls Industry Vendors
ERP/EAM Vendors
Process Management / Process Industry Historian Vendors
Design Tool Vendors
